Yoplait® Pink Lid Program Offers Community a Way to Join Breast Cancer Fight Proceeds Stay Local to Support the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen®

Yoplait announced today the launch of its signature pink lid program - Save Lids to Save Lives®. During September and October, funds raised will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Residents in the Greater Austin area are encouraged to collect the special pink yogurt lids and their efforts will directly support the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
Yoplait is committed to a world without breast cancer and for the 12th consecutive year is turning the brand’s lids pink in September and October. 10 cents will be donated to Komen for the Cure for every pink lid collected and mailed in by December 31, 2010. Yoplait will provide a minimum of $500,000 and give up to $1.6 million in funding for the organization.
Lids submitted are tracked by zip codes, which allow a percentage of the total amount of donated funds to go directly to each sender’s local Komen Affiliate. Pink lids can be mailed directly to PO Box 420704, El Paso, TX 88542-0704 or dropped off at the Komen Austin office at 3508 S. Lamar Suite 300. Other drop-off locations will be announced soon!
During the past 12 years, more than116 million lids have been collected and Yoplait has contributed over $25 million to the cause through programs like the Save Lids to Save Lives® campaign and sponsorship of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® series. Join us as we Save Lids to Save Lives®!
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. The Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1999 and money raised by participants of the Susan G. Komen Austin Race for the Cure® is put directly back into the community. The 2010 Susan G. Komen Austin Race for the Cure will be held on Sunday, November 7th at the Domain in North Austin.
