Who are you running for? — Join in the fight against breast cancer by running a full or half marathon through Marathon for the Cure™
Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...
Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.
Komen credits its success to the many outstanding volunteers who share their energy, ideas, talents and enthusiasm in the fight against breast cancer. Our volunteers come in all sizes, shapes and colors, but their hearts are pink and their caring has no limit. Are you a leader, a thinker or a doer? Use your talents in our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever!
The Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® offers hundreds of volunteer opportunities each year for the Komen Austin Race for the Cure®, special events, office assistance, fundraising, education, public relations, public policy, community outreach, finance and much more! Volunteer orientations are offered periodically throughout the year and Komen Austin welcomes you to attend to learn more about the Komen promise, Komen Austin Affiliate, volunteer needs and much more! Komen Austin is actively recruiting volunteers in the following counties: Travis, Williamson, Hays, Caldwell and Bastrop. Whether you are looking for a year-round commitment or a one-time event, the Komen Austin Affiliate has a place for you.

By helping to make the Austin Marathon a successful community event, our full team of volunteers, staff and supporters also help create economic opportunities for the City of Austin and Central Texas by way of the number of runners and guests visiting Austin for the race.
